VG pavasario II turas

Šį sykį varžybos vyko Dusioje. Vieta labai gera - daug žalios pievutės burėms susitakeluoti, patogus krantas.
This event took place in Dusia lake. This place is very good because there is a lot of grass field to rigg our sails.

Iš pradžių niekas nežinojo kokia rungtis bus vykdoma, dėl to visi užsitakelavo viską ką turėjo. Aš taip pat. Vėliau teisėjas pasakė, kad vis dėl to įvyks slalomas. Kadangi vėjas buvo labai gūsiuotas, nebuvo aišku ar užteks vėjo.
At first nobody knew what discipline will take place, so they prepared all things what they have. Me too. After everybody has prepared, the referee said that slalom discipline will take place. The wind was very fitful so it was hard to say will it be enough or not.


Pirmi du plaukimai buvo atšaukti vos jiems įpusėjus. Tai galbūt ir buvo teisingas sprendimas, bet dalyvių nuotaikos tapo šiek tiek pesimistiškos. Po antro atšaukto plaukimo buvo iškelta vėliava-visi į krantą. Čia buvo pasakyta, kad po 20 min. jei vėjas pakils darys slalomą jei ne-formulę.
The first two heats were canceled. This decision was right but a lot of competitors became pesimistic. After the second canceled heat all sailors went back to the land where the referee said that after 20 minutes we will know what to do, if the wind will go up we will do the slalom discipline, if not FW.

Vėjas pakilo - taigi davė slalomo startus. Aš plaukiau su JP SL III 109l lenta ir NP RS:Slalom MK II 6,2 bure. Šis inventorius prie tokių vėjo sąlygų man labai tiko, su juo išglisuodavau kone anksčiausiai iš visų dalyvių ir taip pat lengvai perplaukdavau vejo skyles. Per pirmą plaukimą startavau vidutiniškai, taigi kai atplaukiau prie pirmo ženklo ten jau buvo daug besimaudančių. Juos apiplaukiau dideliu lanku. Prie antro ir tolesnių ženklų jau buvo ganėtinai tuščia, tai stumdytis nebereikėjo. Kai ką aplenkdavau tik tiesiosiose. Prie finišo vienu metu atplaukėme tryse - aš, Robertas LTU127 ir Raimondas. Kuris iš mūsų buvo pirmesnis nežinau. Mano vieta turėtų būti kažkur 3-4-5.
The wind has increased so the slalom discipline started. I was sailing with JP Sl III 109l board and NP RS:Slalom MK II sail. This inventory was very good for conditions that we had. I started planing very early and I went throught the wind holes quite good. During the first heat my start wasn't very good so when I came to the first mark there were a lot people bathing. I jibed arround them. Near the all other marks there weren't a lot sailors. I have overtaken a few competitors when they were padling and I went to the finish the 3-4-5.

Per antrą plaukim1 vėjas buvo mažiau gūsiuotas ir stipresnis. Aš labai gerai startavau ir prie pirmo ženklo buvau penktas. Tačiau Gedas LTU76 ir Darius Mikelionis mane aplenkė. Visą kelią plaukiau paskui Gedą LTU76 ir tik prieš paskutinį ženklą sugebėjau jį aplenkti. Finišavau 5.
During the second heat the wind wasn't so fitful. It was stronger too. I managed to do a very good start and near the first mark I was the fifth, but Gedas LTU76 and Darius LTU1 have overtaken me. All the time in front of me was going Gedas LTU76, only before the last mark I managed to overtake him. I finished 5.

Per 3 ir 4 plaukimus vėjas vėl buvo gūsiuotas ir nepastovus. Tačiau man dėl to buvo tik geriau. Abiejuose plaukimuose gerai sustartuodavau ir nuo pat starto įsiverždavau į lyderių gretas. Taip pat man padėjo tai, kad nei karto neįkritau prie ženklo. Tačiau vienas žmogus visa tai darė geriau už mane. Tai buvo Arvis LTU789. Nors aš sustartuodavau geriau už jį, jis mane pavydavo ir aplenkdavo. Neįsivaizduoju, kaip jam taip lengvai pavykdavo išsipumpuoti ir perplaukti skyles. Abiejuose plaukimuose finišavau antras.
During the 3 and 4 heats the wind was fitful and unstable. But this only helped me. During both heats I made a good start and I was always sailing in the top 10. I haven't felt on the marks, this thing has also helped me but one man all things was doing better than me. It was Arvis LTU789. I made better starts than him but he has always overtaken me. His speed was better, he was planing earlier and he was making better jibes. So these both heats he came the first and me - the second.

Man šios varžybos buvo puikios. Aš pirmą kartą suplaukiau taip gerai plaukdamas Slalomo discipliną. Su nekantrumu laukiu sekančių varžybų.
For me this competition was wonderful. I have sailed so well in the slalom division for the first time. I am waiting for the next races.
